Feed Wheat

Winter feed wheat is a commonly grown cereal which has advantages of higher yields from earlier planting and spreads the farmers work load and irrigation requirements. Autumn drilled crops also reduce the impact of moisture stress and drought in the summer months as the roots penetrate deeper into the soil. This is especially important for dryland or rain-fed crops. Wheat is an excellent high energy feed source with at least 90% of the energy value of maize but with higher proteins.

Like all crops, planning is essential prior to planting.
